Package Overview

Kampala city is the main central business district of Uganda. The city is comprised of both upscale and downtown sections. The upscale section is less congested, much cleaner and organized with; modern shopping malls, restaurants and coffee shops, curio shops, banks, insurance companies, major forex bureaus, casinos, 3 to 5 star hotels, embassies, posh hangout places that operate all week, cinemas, the golf course (Kampala’s only green belt), the main post office and all important government organs like the parliament and ministries. On the other hand, like many other cities in the world, the downtown section is too busy and congested with gridlock traffic of both people and vehicles. This part of the city is where you will find most small and medium scale businesses and it is where majority of the people that live in and out of the city go for day to day shopping. Downtown hosts Owino market also known as St. Balikudembe market which happens to be the largest second hand clothing market in Africa and two large commuter taxi parks that are the hub of Kampala’s transport to different destinations in the suburbs and other parts of the country.

Kampala City also has a vibrant night life; actually the city never stands still all week with the climax of partying and hanging out being on weekends. The city’s official weekend is known to start on Thursday evening and goes on till Sunday morning. There are lots of posh hangout places that you won’t even get bored of frequenting once you are in Uganda’s capital. If you are looking for real fun from the usual routine, Kampala is the city you should visit for an incredible experience especially in the night.
