Package Overview

This 16 days’ safari includes visiting; Source of River Nile in Jinja, Sipi Falls area in Kapchorwa, Uganda’s best national parks such as; Kidepo Valley, Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Mgahinga and Lake Mburo National Park. Expect to see lots of wildlife such as; the Big five, Cheetah, Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Golden Monkeys, different Bird Species, waterfalls, lakes and other eye catching attractions allover Uganda.

Itinerary

Day One: You will be picked up from an agreed location in Kampala by 7am and driven to the Haven Lodge in Jinja for about 100Km with a healthy stopover at Bannz Nile Grill. Proceed with your journey and check-in at the Haven Lodge, have lunch after which you will head off to the Source of River Nile where you will take a short boat cruise to the actual point where the river starts flowing northwards- also known as Point Zero. After exploring the Source of River Nile you will be taken on a tour around Jinja town and then returned back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day Two: After having breakfast, checkout of the Haven Lodge by 8am and transfer to Kapchorwa covering a distance of about 210Km with a stopover in Mbale town for snacks and/ or lunch, arriving in Kapchorwa at about 3pm. Dinner and overnight stay at Sipi River Lodge.

Day Three: Have breakfast at 7am and soon after go for a guided nature walk that takes you to explore the three separate Sipi Falls found at the base of Mount Elgon in Kapchorwa. Return back to the Lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying mother nature.

Day Four: Have breakfast, checkout of Sipi River Lodge by 7am and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park covering a distance of about 410Km with healthy stopovers in Moroto and Kotido districts, arriving at 6pm. Dinner and overnight stay at Nga’moru Wilderness Camp.

Day Five: Go for an early morning game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park starting at 6:30am with packed breakfast and lunch. This part of the game drive will take you through the southern to northern sector of the park where you expect to see Africa’s finest wildlife. Return back to the Lodge for dinner & rest.

Day Six: Have breakfast, checkout of Nga’moru Wilderness Camp by 7am and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park covering a distance of about 400Km with healthy stopovers in Kitgum and Gulu. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Day Seven: Leave the Lodge at 6:30am with packed breakfast for a 4hours morning game drive across the open savannah of Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to see the spectacular sunrise and amazing wildlife like; Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Antelopes, Warthogs, Patas Monkeys, Baboons, Savanna Monitor Lizards and various Bird Species as well as Lions and Leopards if luck is on your side.

Return back to the Lodge and relax as you wait for lunch at 12:00. Immediately after lunch, go for a 2pm boat cruise upstream of river Nile up to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Expect to see a lot of Hippos, Huge Nile Crocodiles, Colobus Monkeys and different Bird Species such as; the Pied King Fisher, African Fish Eagle and many others, all seen along the banks of river Nile. Return to the Lodge at 6pm and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day Eight: Have breakfast, checkout of Pakuba Lodge by 7am and transfer for about 350Km to Fort Portal passing via Top of Murchison Falls with a stopover in Hoima town. Arrive in Fort Portal town by evening. Dinner & overnight stay at Mountains of the Moon.

Day Nine: Wake up to a late breakfast served at 8am, checkout of Mountains of the Moon Hotel and go to see Ganyina Mwiru waterfalls slightly outside Fort Portal town. After Ganyina Mwiru visit, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park covering a distance of about 100Km. Lunch, dinner & overnight stay at Simba Safari Lodge.

Day Ten: Set off at 6am for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park with packed breakfast, while on this 4hours game drive expect to see lots of wildlife like; Antelopes, Elephants, Buffalos as well as Lions and Leopards if luck is on your side. After the Game drive, return back to the Lodge and relax as you wait for lunch. After lunch, set off for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where you expect to have a glimpse of the highest Hippopotamus concentrations in Africa and then return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day Eleven: Have breakfast by 7am, checkout of Simba Safari Lodge and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for about 280Km with stopovers in Ntungamo and Kabale for lunch. Arrive at the Lodge by 4pm. Dinner & overnight stay at Lake Chahafi Resort.

Day Twelve: Wake up to an early breakfast starting at 6:30am, thereafter report for briefing at the gorilla tracking point by 7:50am. Set off into the forest at 9:00am with packed lunch and spend about 4 to 6 hours tracking down a gorilla family. Upon finding one, you will spend an hour with it while taking photos. Return back from the forest and head to the Lodge. Spend the rest of the day at leisure as you reminisce on your gorilla tracking experience.

Day Thirteen: After breakfast, checkout of Lake Chahafi Resort by 9am and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for about 70Km. Check-in at Arcadia Cottages, relax as you wait to have lunch. After lunch, spend the rest of the day at leisure while enjoying the Lodge’s facilities.

Day Fourteen: Have breakfast at 8am and soon after breakfast go out on a 2hours boat cruise to explore the numerous islands on the second deepest Crater Lake in Africa. Return back to the Lodge for lunch after which you can choose to take part in adrenaline stimulating activities like; participating in the Kiga energetic dance, zip lining, cycling around the lake or even canoeing.

Day Fifteen: After breakfast, checkout of Arcadia cottages by 8am and transfer to Mbarara town for about 180Km. Have lunch at Igongo Cultural Center after which you will go for an afternoon game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Cottages, Lake Mburo.

Day Sixteen: After a delightful breakfast, checkout of Arcadia Cottages by 9am and transfer to Kampala for about 240Km, passing via Masaka and the Equator line in Kayebwe. Proceed to Kampala, arriving at 4pm and be dropped off at an agreed place.
